Tyranno Beat Overview

Tyranno Beat is a heavy attacker with a bumpy, sloped blade that both smashes opponents sideways and scoops them up off the floor. It hits about as hard as anything in the game, but the same shape bounces it back hard too, so it burns its own spin fast and has to finish early.

Strengths

  • + Very heavy, so its hits move even bulky opponents
  • + Bumpy shape creates huge recoil for over and extreme finishes
  • + Sloped underside lifts opponents up and destabilizes them
  • + Flexible enough to run attack, defense, or even stamina builds

Weaknesses

  • That same recoil drains its own spin, so a slow game is usually a loss
  • The recoil shape also leaves it easier to burst than most blades
  • Newer attackers like Shark Scale out-trade it, and its usage has dropped a lot
  • Prone to knocking itself out on fast bits unless you tilt the launch

Tyranno Beat 1-60R is the definitive build and the most successful one in tournament results, with 3-60R and 1-60LR behind it. Launch it hard and with a little tilt, which keeps it from throwing itself out and gives you the best angle for a critical hit. Everything rides on landing that hit early, because the recoil that makes it hit so hard drains its own spin just as fast. If you want a safer game, 5-60P trades some speed for late-game stamina and gives you more chances at one big destabilizing blow, and stamina-leaning builds in this style have been taken as far as the Asia Cup. It is no longer a meta staple, since Shark Scale does a similar job with better stamina, but it still hits hard enough to threaten anything in the game.
