Gear Needle Overview
Gear Needle is a defense bit with a cone tip that is less sharp than Needle and sits 0.5 to 1.5mm lower than its Needle siblings, with extended gears down the tip. On paper it has decent stamina, but in real battles the gears catch the X-Line and fling this stationary bit around unpredictably.
Strengths
- + Lower height than Needle or High Needle, which helps burst resistance
- + Decent pure stamina when left alone
- + Docile, controllable stationary behavior on a clean launch
Weaknesses
- − Extended gears create real self-KO risk when it gets knocked onto the X-Line
- − Easily destabilized and knocked out once hit
- − Too inconsistent for tournaments, where High Needle is simply the safer pick
Gear Needle came with Cowl Sphinx 9-80GN and LeonCrest 7-60GN, and if you run it, keep it on low, stable ratchets under defense blades. Launch flat and hope it stays planted in the center. Competitively it is a gamble: in a serious 3v3 deck, use High Needle or Needle instead and keep Gear Needle for casual play.
