Optimus Prime Overview
Optimus Prime is a Transformers collab blade on the Knight Shield mold, labeled a balance type but playing like Knight Shield's counterattack defense game. At 31.7 grams it is close to the original's weight, making it one of the more faithful-performing collabs, if still just a redeco.
Strengths
- + Knight Shield's wavy rim wears attackers down with recoil
- + Solid weight for a collab blade
- + Flexible across defense, anti-attack, and stamina builds
- + Flagship gear chip design of the Transformers line
Weaknesses
- − No battle advantage over a standard Knight Shield
- − Passive, slow win condition
- − Stock Point bit setup is fine but unremarkable
Use Optimus Prime on its stock 4-60P launched flat to hold the center, or move to Needle or Ball bits like 4-60N for a purer defensive game against aggressive decks. Let attackers beat themselves up on its rim, then outspin them. In a 3v3 deck it is a themed defensive anchor that performs respectably at casual level, ideally opposite its Megatron packmate.
