Dragoon Storm Overview
Dragoon Storm brings Takao's plastic-generation Dragoon into X as a four-winged, left-spin attacker with a Rubber Accel bit. It is a wonderful nostalgia piece and a fun opposite-spin disruptor, but at about 25 grams it is the lightest blade in the system and gets thrown around by nearly everything.
Strengths
- + Left spin gives it the opposite-spin matchup against a mostly right-spin field
- + Rubber Accel bit grips the floor for fast, sharp attack runs
- + Aggressive wing shape can land real hits on light opponents
- + The definitive Bakuten nostalgia blade in X
Weaknesses
- − Lightest blade released, so it loses almost every weight clash
- − Gets knocked out or destabilized by any solid hit
- − Needs a left-spin launcher, which limits launch options
- − Little stamina if its early attack fails
Run Dragoon Storm on its stock 4-60RA and launch it hard, using left spin and the rubber tip to slash across the stadium into right-spin opponents before its weight disadvantage catches up. It is at its best surprising light attack and stamina builds; against heavy meta blades it simply bounces off. In a 3v3 deck it is a novelty or themed pick rather than a competitive slot, though the opposite-spin angle can steal a game against unprepared decks.
