Scorpio Spear

Scorpio Spear is a very heavy balance blade with a transforming rim: it starts round and defensive, then shifts into an aggressive three-sided attack shape after an Xtreme Dash. Testers rate it a top-tier blade, but its wins usually come from throwing its weight around and outspinning a destabilized opponent rather than from the mode change itself.

Run Scorpio Spear on Free Ball, with 9-60FB by far its most successful build, or on Kick like 9-60K for a more aggressive lean; 7-60L is the pick if you want the steadiest results. Pair it with a ratchet that keeps it upright, since its weight only pays off while it stays stable. Play it as a control piece: absorb the early exchanges, force the opponent to tilt and scrape, and take the spin finish. The mode change into attack shape is a bonus rather than the plan, so do not chase an Xtreme Dash to trigger it. Remember to reset the rim between rounds, though you will notice if you forget because it will not lock onto the launcher. In a 3v3 deck it is a heavy anchor that answers attack types.
