Blast is a Custom Line (CX) main blade, so you build it with a lock chip and an assist blade instead of a plain blade. Its three heavy wings can be built two completely different ways, as a hard-hitting attacker or as a defensive stamina wall, and that flexibility is why it is far and away the most-used CX blade in tournaments.
Two assist blades matter here: Heavy for attack and Wheel for stamina. Pair either with 9-60, which steadies a blade that is naturally tall and wobbly. For attack, Emperor Blast Heavy 9-60K is the staple, with 9-60LR as the harder-hitting but riskier version. For a defensive build, Emperor Blast Wheel 9-60H turns it into a wall that still hits hard early on. Keep the combo as low as you can, and do not treat the metal lock chip as an automatic upgrade, because the extra weight also makes it easier to topple. Blast is at its best hunting other attackers and at its weakest grinding against stamina blades like Wizard Rod and Silver Wolf, so give it a stamina partner in a 3v3 deck.
